The Ultimate 50's Dinner Theater

The Blast From the Past series of Dinner Theaters by Bart and Renee' Glatt has been in continual production since 1985.  These comedy productions have been performed in churches, schools, festivals, and theme parks with casts ranging from college age to elementary school age.  These plays follow the lives of the kids at William Franklin Graham High School from "At the Hop" to "At the Malt Shop."  Then we join them "At the Beach", "At the School," and "At the Hang-outs."  Our videos are lavish affairs with a real 1955 Malt Shop (Woolworth's) as seen at the top of our Website, 22,000 pounds of sand ("At the Beach"), authentic sets, costumes, props, special effects, magic, and the fantastic music of the late 50's and early 60's.

Scripts, videos, and performance packages are available for sale ranging from $25 to $5,000.  Our latest addition is the hilarious award-winning 1-act play "Our Time Is Up" by Sharon Williams for a cast of 3 guys and 3 girls.  Call for more information.  Many churches and schools use these performances as a fundraiser.  *The most money ever raised with one production -- $37,000 (Trinity Baptist Church Lake Charles, LA January, 1991.)*  Call Bart at 337-515-5419 or e-mail us at bartglatt@gmail.com.

This is the introduction to the Blast From the Past series introducing the main characters that will run throughout the series.  Although each show is self-contained (each makes sense by itself), taken as a whole, the storyline continues from show to show.  "At the Hop" takes place at the Valentine Hop in the gym of William Franklin Graham High School.  With Frankie Flame and the Fireballs performing and love in the air, what could go wrong?

Running time:  1 hour 35 minutes

The fun continues in "At the Malt Shop."  It is the first day of summer vacation.  All the kids will come through Pop's Malt Shop today.  With some cool cars in the parking lot, a Wurlitzer jukebox in the corner, and lots of great friends, music, and time to enjoy it all -- life couldn't get any better than this...that is until Harold and Jenny break up, Mr. Snodgrass shows up unexpectedly, and the new cook turns out to be a psycopathic killer.
